UP Yoddha go down 33-37 to Dabang Delhi


Bengaluru: UP Yoddha – the GMR group owned Pro Kabaddi League franchise lost a thrilling encounter to Dabang Delhi 33-37 today. UP Yoddha played a very impressive and attacking game in the first half with the teams raiders and defenders displaying top form leading the half 18-13. 
However, the team could not maintain their momentum in the second half. Dabang Delhi raced ahead with a win with crucial points. UP Yoddha are now placed 9th in the points tally with 15 points after 7 games. Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill were the top raiders for UP Yoddha earning 9 raid points each. UP Yoddha now face 2nd placed Bengaluru Bulls tomorrow, 9th January 2022. 
The match will be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network and Hotstar 8:30 PM onwards. UP Yoddha started on attacking note through Pardeep Narwal, however Dabang Delhi came back through their star raider Naveen Kumar to level points. 
UP Yoddha who seemed determined for a win today soon came back through their rock-solid defense crawling ahead to a 4-2 lead. UP Yoddha’s form was challenged for a short while by Dabang Delhi who raced ahead to lead 6-4, while placing the Yoddha’s in a near all out situation.
 However, UP Yoddha had different plans today and not only did they save the all out by a super tackle on Delhi’s Naveen to level score at 6-6, but thereafter the team also inflicted an all-out on Delhi in the 15th minute to establish a convincing 15-9 lead in the game. 
The game thereafter was a one-sided affair with UP Yoddha dominating on all fronts with Pardeep Narwal returning to form. Delhi’s star raider Naveen Kumar was tackled in a convincing manner by UP Yoddha all throughout the first half. UP Yoddha’s defensive and attacking approach looked to be in a spirited mood today helping them wrap up the first half with a comfortable 18-13 lead.
The second half began with Dabang Delhi starting on an attacking note. For Delhi, Naveen Kumar returned to his form as he struck one after another for his team, ensuring Delhi reduced their deficit to a lead inflicting an All Out on UP Yoddha in the 10th minute as the score board read 25-26 to Delhi’s favour. UP Yoddha tried making a comeback thereafter but Dabang Delhi did not let the game move out of their hands all throughout to finally walk away with 33-37 win.
